Boy oh Boy.. :)
upon arrival, saw a 7-9 yr old kid wearing a DT shirt, accompanied by his parents, getting out of a cab.haha.daddy was wearing a DT shirt oso.cool.haha.there were ppl of all shapes n sizes there.very awesome.haha :( failed to smuggle my digicam into the stadium.
anyway,bingyang,aikchuan,kev and i got the 1st row of the 2nd tier seats.we paid 90 bucks for our seats.pretty close to center stage.my bro n his frens paid 120 and got to sit like 5 rows in front of us :P hmmm,the place was abt 79% filled onli lor..quite saddening i tot.poor turnout.lousy singaporeans.haha.and there were soo many empty seats in front of us la..security seems quite lag at point oso.haha.so after waiting 45 min..yesh 45 MINS :( (due to wad seems like tech. diff), the lights went out.and wongkok n gang hopped over and ended up getter seats w/o paying more.haha.deja vu.just like slipknot.hahaha.
the performance was great la.needless to say.haha.wad the heck.they're on hot shots la.think warren buffett in econs and johnny depp in acting.u get the idea.haha.famous, popular and technically highly-acclaimed.jordan rudess was relax and having lots of fun with his keyboard.portney setting the beat and showcasing his vibrant n precise style of drumming.pettruci whipping up wicked solos effortlessly and displaying an aura of precision, speed, style and technicality.amazingly supported by the ever-so-low-profile john myung.this guy is just freaking sick.he plays the bass like a river gushing downstream liddat.just damn fluid and shockingly fast.damn zhai..damn zhai seriously..
the few of us were grooving and headbanging hard to the songs.haha.shouted and sang along until our voice were hoarse.in the midst of it all.we spotted m'sia and aust flag oso.damn cool.haha.
anyway.nort really used to all the songs played.but it was easy enough to be amused and headbang to.haha.when the curtains came down..pretty dissappointing..they crowd was calling out for more~!!and we succeedded~!!!!the encore was memorable man.DT played their classic hit "Pull Me Under" adding in lotsa modified solos to make things even beta.ended off with metropolis part 1 solo.damn solid.ruddess and pettruci are normally hogging the limelight.but john myung did his wicked freaking sick bass solo to entertain teh crowd.damn damn damn damn song.John Ro Myung forever.haha
picutre this.pitch black "we want more!! we want more!! we want more!!" guitar goes off and fans started screaming their lungs out.lights back on.and ppl starting to sing n rock on hard to the intro riff of DT classic Pull Me Under~ the fans haedbang on while others devotedly singing along until the solo..when teh music died down and the lights goes off again..everyone just wanted more.the tension builds up n the crowd getting restless as ever.den the keyboard goes on and started the wicked freaking sick solo intro for Metropolis part 1.soon followed a whiz of flair and extreme musicianship as band members took turns to strut their stuff..3 mins into the solo.JOHN MYUNG took centre stage and streamed into his F^$%ing bass solo.no words can ever describe tt moment of sheer brillance man..
the band den went into a lil jam and a inter-solo btw rudess and petrucci.portnoy continue to provide his intoxicating beats while myung jams along.den labrie made an official farewell note and ended the song on a high note.the band then took turns to show their thanks and wave their goodbyes.it was just awesome seeing them come tgt n take a bow la...siow liao.damnnnnnnnnnnn great~!! :D:D:D:D
after the concert,got this jap guy approached mi and asked if i'm wearing a hide shirt.damnn cool.seems tt the sg concert is his 5th DT concert and he watched x japan 10 times!!! he even took a personal pic with petrucci la.siow liao.he has oso visited the hide museum...arghhhhhhhhhhhh.it's now close.anwl.took a pic with him n my bro.haha.music break all cultural boundaries man ;);)
